Siu Qun - Aunt Thirteen

Character description: Siu Qun is Wong Fei Hung's adopted aunt thirteen. However, they grew up together and developed great affection for each other. When Siu Qun comes back from her study in England, their relationship is blooming into love.

Siu Qun is very Westernized. She wears Western clothes (Rosamund looks gorgeous in those Western costumes), learns Western technologies (she is very keen on cameras) and know many Western things. Together with Ki Ying, Siu Qun opens Fei Hung's mind to the new technologies.

Siu Qun is very kind-hearted, intelligent, brave and determined. She shows pity and great cares for poor and unlucky people (E.g. Clubfoot in part III, the barn owner's family in part V and Iron Egg in the TV series: the Ideal Century). She keens on learning many things. She is not afraid of the bad people although she is very elegant.

Finally, Siu Qun is so romantic. Siu Qun can daydream whenever she is with her beloved Fei Hung (E.g. the shadow play in part I, II, III). In every conversation with Fei Hung, she implies her care and love. All these little details make their relationship so sweet even though the movies are not about love.

With such characteristics, how can master Wong not fall in love with Siu Qun? And he does actually care about her the most. I think Siu Qun would make the best wife to Wong Fei Hung. Unfortunately, there is one thing separating them........ To save her lover and husband, Siu Qun sacrifices her own life (The Ideal Century).

Rosamund Kwan as Siu Qun - Aunt Thirteen (movies): Rosamund Kwan is great as Siu Qun, especially with Jet Li as master Wong. My sister once said that they are so cute together. She looks so gorgeous in both Chinese and Western clothes. Her Siu Qun is so lovely. Rosamund brings all the characteristics discussed above to Siu Qun and makes her become one of my most favorite heroines ever.

Meggie Siu Mei Kei as Siu Qun (TV series): Siu Mei Kei did a fine job as Siu Qun. Although she lacks of Rosamund's beauty, Meggie's Siu Qun is still strong headed and brave. I still love her Siu Qun and Chiu Man Cheuk's Fei Hung in the TV series. Meggie Siu is also lovely but less romantic and simpler.
